Clothing & Shoes
Clothing & ShoesOur decisions on what clothing to buy can have a very significant impact on the environment, locally as well as globally. Synthetic fibres like polyester and nylon are derived from petro-chemicals which have a very high environmental impact in extraction and production. Some natural fibres can also harm the environment if they are not grown in appropriate areas with adequate regulations around pesticide and herbicide use or they are too thirsty for water.
We only sell clothing that we believe has been sustainably sourced, for example organic cotton, hemp and bamboo, which all produce fantastic fabrics and utilise less water and chemicals to grow than other traditional crops.
We also believe in the ethical production of clothing and only source products that are made under Fair Trade regulations or through other co-operatives or manufacturers that guarantee workers who made the garments are paid a fair wage and they do not employ child or sweat shop labour.
